Sleeping Muse

Many of the pieces I have made recently have been curled in on themselves. Tight self contained forms. Aware of themselves and not of the outside world. this piece is partly inspired by Gaudier Brzeska. The edges and forms are more angular than nature, they should be softer and more fluid. The angularity increases the shadows and the sculptural presence. Again I have used a 2 tone underglaze surface. This looks towards surfaces found in bronze sculptures and suggests this is about sculptural form more than pure representation of the animal.
